The Cadi Moixero Natural Park is located between two regions of the Pyrenees: High Bergueda and La Cerdanya.
If you like scrambling over rocks for the thrill of reaching spectacular summits but you’re not ready to tackle ropes, this is your trek.
No need to pack up every day, because we will stay throughout in the same inn. It is located in Guardiola de Berguedà, a village in the centre of the Bergueda region which will be our base camp for the climbs every day.
Cadi-Moixero Natural Park has plenty of summits where there are stunning panoramic views over the rest of Catalonia to the south, France to the north, and the rest of the Pyrenees to the east and west.
We have selected the best for you: Gallina Pelada (2,317m), Predaforca (2,506m), Penyes Altes de Moixeró (2,279m) and Comabona (2,554m).
You might prefer less demanding hikes. We have also included lower gradient hikes in our catalogue.
Highlights:
Early in the morning the guide picks up any guests who wish to be collected in Barcelona and later on meets any participants who drive themselves to the Pyrenees at Guardiola de Berguedà.
After the check-in at the inn we drive to the starting point of hike today.
Serrat Voltor (2,279m), the first of the four peaks in the Ensija range is a summit that, once reached, gives you the feeling that you are on top of the world.
The next peak is Creu de Ferro (2,294m), The most gentle summit. From here, you will enjoy the best view over all of the Ensija’s crest line.
Gallina Pelada (2.317m) is the third peak and the highest point of the Ensija range.
Roca Blanca (2,289m) is the last one. This summit is linked to Gallina Pelada by a rocky, overhead crest line which is not risky and which is interesting to walk along. Roca Blanca is surrounded by steep cliffs and screes.
Distance: 14.5km – Elevation gain: 900m

After the hike optional visit to the Picasso museum in Gósol. Picasso spent 81 days in Gósol during the spring and summer of 1906. There he painted more than 300 works. After this trip, Picasso’s pictures evolved towards simplified shapes, towards the primitive.
After breakfast, drive to the starting point of the ascent to Comabona (2.554m).
Comabona is easily identified by its elongated range of mountains. The relatively easy ascent and the beauty of the rock formations which can be seen from different perspectives along the way, combine to make an extremely attractive programme.
On top of that there is a surprising contrast in the landscape between the sheer north face of the Sierra and its softly rising mountain ridges where you can enjoy a walk in all directions. A brilliant walk!
Distance: 15.5km – Elevation gain: 1265m.

After breakfast, drive to the starting point of the ascent to Penyes Altes de Moixero (2,279m).
While moderate southern slopes and vertical northern precipices characterise the Cadi mountain range, the reverse is true of the eastern Moixero mountains.
Distance: 14.8km – Elevation gain: 1315m
After breakfast, drive to the starting point of the ascent.
From the summit: one of the most beautiful views in the Pyrenees. The distinctively shaped Pedraforca is one of the most beautiful mountains of the Iberian peninsula.
For many mountain lovers Pedraforca is the perfect example of a mountain and therefore a popular summit to aim for. However, it is a strenuous ascent, with some very steep inclines and sections of scrambling in the summit area. We can choose a shorter route if necessary.
Distance: 11.2km – Elevation gain: 1143m
After the descent, we taste home-made beer in a bar of Gósol to celebrate the conquest of Pedraforca.
End of the tour.
Participants who were collected in Barcelona will be transferred back.
